South Carolina Property

I n 2006, Eric purchased some land in Salley, SC. In 2022, the population of that town was 297. In that tiny town, Eric bought 33+ acres. Only 6 acres of it is buildable. Strange. A day after purchasing it, he was upset that he didn't buy the one next to it which had a path cut through to the creek which runs behind all properties. I think it's called the Edisto Creek. So, he decided that we were going to forge a path ourselves. He bought a pair of clippers and a machete to do that from a local hardware store. Needless to say, we did not get very far and Eric was even more unhappy. There was an extremely wet, muddy part where my feet just sank and we panicked which led to Eric feeling even worse that we should have bought the lot number 12 not 13. He told me while we were bush-whacking that if by chance we were to disturb a beehive, I should just start running in the opposite direction. Lol! I exclaimed that I would never be able to run fast enough through the vegetation to outrun the bees! Eventually we gave up and went back to the bed and breakfast we were staying at. I heard the owner of that bed and breakfast crying many times. She had many photos of a man on a mantle and on the piano. Now, I wonder if she too was a widow.
