- anecdot is a storytelling platform designed to help you capture and share the life stories
of your loved ones. You can order a custom, etched metal QR code that links directly to your loved one's
story, making it easy for family, friends, and future generations to read. In the future, more formats will be available for sharing your stories.
- How do the QR codes work?
- Each QR code is unique and links to a a specific story. Anyone can scan the QR code with a smartphone, and the story will
instantly appear. These QR codes can be placed on gravestones, memorial benches, picture frames, or anywhere you’d like.
- Can I update the story after the QR code is created?
- Yes. You can easily update or add to the story at any time. The
QR code will always link to the most recent version of the story.
- How do I create a story?
- anecdot will guide you to write your loved one's story, one chapter at a time. There's a sequential framework to
lend some structure to your writing. For those who so choose, you can answer a series of questions and receive a custom-generated text which you can then further edit.
- Can I decide who can see the story?
- Yes. You can decide to make the story you write open to anybody who scans
the QR code, or only to those you've added to your trusted readers. You
can also password protect your story.
- What happens if the QR code stops working?
- The QR codes are permanently etched on aluminum using UV lasers
and therefore highly resistant to weather and other forces.
However, if anything happens, contact me right away and I'll
help you resolve it.
- Can multiple people contribute to the story?
- Yes. This is one of the main features of anecdot. Everyone who
knew you or your loved loved one can easily add their memories and anecdotes, which
you can approve before integrating into the story.
